Parsloe’s Heath Centre

A visit to the Doctors can very often be traumatic. Our approach is to make all the patients feel as comfortable as possible, by designing the surgery like we would a home.

Parsloe’s Health Centre takes inspiration from the king of homes – Tigbourne Court by Edwin Lutyens. The design is based on the rooms of a suburban Victorian house. It is naturally ventilated with red brick chimneys, each connected to a red brick fireplace.

A wide, internalised street runs the full length of the building, with triple-height, triple-aspect public room that focuses out onto a garden. Glazed circulation cores, bridges, voids and terraces intersect, stitch all levels together. Housing a large GP practice, a wide range of community health services, office space, staff facilities, a library and meeting rooms.
